Hospital Quality Improvement
South Dakota Foundation for Medical Care contracts with the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services to perform Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) activities during three year cyles. These contract cycles are called QIO Statements of Work (SOW) and include several required tasks for Medicare. SDFMC is currently planning activities for the 8th Statement of Work.

    New rules regarding the hospital issued notices of non-coverage and the Important Message From Medicare go into effect July 1, 2007. Copy of the final notices and fiscal intermediary manual instructions on this issue can be found on our Hospital Notices page.
