Services
South Dakota Foundation for Medical Care (SDFMC) is the physician Peer Review Organization (PRO) and a Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for the Medicare program in South Dakota. SDFMC has worked to improve the quality of health care since 1973. In this role, SDFMC serves as a quality improvement facilitator and resource to health care professionals, offering experience in project development, design and implementation. SDFMC's primary areas of service are quality improvement and medical review.
Expertise
As health care quality experts, much of SDFMC's work continues to involve collection, integration, analysis and interpretation of performance measurement data; identification and measurement of outcomes; and providing assistance with design and implementation of process changes. Our work is comprehensive, continuous and clinically focused, while meeting the needs of the medical community.
Collaboration
From designing and managing improvement projects to consulting and providing technical services, SDFMC helps health care professionals understand, compare and move their performance to a best practices model. Many of SDFMC's improvement projects are paving the way for health care facilities to build and expand these performance improvement programs within their own facilities. Health care professionals throughout the state have benefited from successful quality improvement projects.
